On Thursday, 24 March it is exactly 70 days to the start of the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday celebrations and many church communities are already planning to celebrate this milestone in our history.
The Choir of St Martin’s, London Road, has received a new set of cassocks thanks to a charity grant & were able to recycle the old ones thanks to Bristol Cathedral.
The Church of England has published a ‘toolkit’ of resources for parishes seeking to help refugees and evacuees from Ukraine in the wake of the Russian invasion of the country.
Ten new honorary Canons have been appointed at Worcester Cathedral in recognition of their work in both the Diocese and the wider Church. Appointments are made by the Bishop of Worcester in consultation with the Chapter of the Cathedral.
Bishop John is pleased to announce the appointment of the Revd Diana Farmer as Priest-in-Charge of St James, Wollaston;Â this is a half-time post.
A 4 year-old from Upper Arley CE Primary School was so affected by a break-in at the local church that he decided to donate his pocket money towards the repairs.

As the Platinum Jubilee Year begins, The Holy Innocents’ Church in Kidderminster marked the 70th Anniversary of the Accession on Sunday, 6 February with a special service.

An announcement from Bishop John
The Community Link is run from two empty shops on Cradley Heath High Street. Initially set up in partnership with St John’s Church in Dudley Wood, it is now developing into a deanery project and they are looking for more people to volunteer.
Following the first round of Open Conversations, the Old Hills benefice were inspired to look at how they might bring more people into their churches. They established the Old Hill Caterpillars with people representing each church, but also people from the villages who were not church members.
The small community at Kyre Church has raised around £15,000 to make repairs to one of the church's windows, successfully applying to a number of trusts.
St Edmund's Church in Dudley has recently removed three rows of pews from the back to create more space. Removing the floor was an opportunity to see what history could be found underneath!
When the service of Nine Lessons and Carols in Hanbury Church had to be cancelled due to Covid, the team found an alternative way of holding the event, reaching many more people as a result.

St Stephen’s Church in Redditch town centre launched a toy appeal this year which will enable Christmas presents to be given to around 600 children who wouldn’t otherwise have received anything.
The Revive Learning Centre at Top Church, Dudley, operated by the Invictus Education Trust, will offer alternative provision to vulnerable students who find mainstream school difficult.
