St Matthew is the patron saint of tax collectors. On his feast day think about what the Christian voice might be in the tax system and how we might shape a fairer, greener society for all.
As we approach harvest time, we reflect of the significance of harvest in our lives and faith. Harvest time is a season of gratitude and abundance, reminding us of the gifts that God gives us.

For nearly 150 years, the Mothers’ Union nationally has been engaged in raising awareness of social injustices – and in offering practical, prayerful and loving help to those in need. In the Diocese of Worcester, the MU was affiliated in 1913.

On Saturday 9 September, Bishop Martin will license new Licensed Lay Ministers (also known as Readers) for parishes in Worcestershire and Dudley.
Prisons Sunday is on 8 October this year and marks the beginning of Prisons Week, which continues until the following Saturday. The diocesan Criminal Justice Affairs Group (CJAG) aims to offer a Christian perspective and advise on criminal justice matters.
