Pupils in Key Stage 2 at St Barnabas CE Primary School in Worcester took part in a special assembly on Ash Wednesday to learn about Lent, receive ashes and share communion together.
Today, on Ash Wednesday, following a service to mark the start of Lent and the giving of Ashes at Church of the Ascension in Wall Heath, Mission Priest Sarah Roberts-Malpass and Curate Chris Smith, visited the nearby high street to offer ‘Ashes to go’ to passersby.
In this year's Lent Message from Bishop Martin, he encourages us to use Lent as a time to reset and refocus on God through prayer, fasting, and acts of kindness.
This year’s Lent Appeal will raise funds for the newly created Morogoro Bible College Scholarship Fund to support the costs of tuition and board for catechists, evangelists and pastors from the mission parishes across our link Diocese of Morogoro in Tanzania.
