An independent review of the Mission Accompaniers scheme has found that it effectively prepared churches for mission.
Oldswinford Curate, Claire Cox and Associate Priest in Hagley and Clent, Kim Topham were both invited to take part in a recording of the Christmas edition of the Taste Test Restaurant for Channel 5. Clare tells us about her experience.
Animato Children's choir is based at Leigh Church and started as part of the parish's work with the Calling Young Disciples programme. Recently, members of Animato Children’s Choir made their leaders and supporting family members incredibly proud when they took part in the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival at the Royal Grammar School.
Bishop Martin visited the church of St Peter and St Paul in Rock on Sunday to celebrate the creation of the Muddy Boots Mission Area. As part of the service, people from across the 26 churches in the area committed to praying and working together.

Restoration works to the iconic spire of St John's Church in Bromsgrove have officially begun. This marks the start of the Spire Appeal Project, a restoration project made possible with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Sarah Roberts-Malpass has been licensed as the Anglo-Catholic Mission Priest for Kingswinford and Wall Heath, one of our renewal parishes. Her role is funded by the national church and will be very outward focussed, taking the church into the local community.
Although St James’ Church in Dudley has recently been declared redundant, its dedicated congregation members are determined to keep the memories and the fellowship alive. Former members of the Local Church Council have spoken about how their church always had a family feel and some of the things they will miss.
Alison Maddocks, our Dean of Smaller Churches will retire at the end of May this year. Alison has worked in the role since the start of 2021, supporting those churches with an active membership of 20 or fewer.
The Diocese of Worcester hosts a group whose focus is criminal justice. The group offers a faith perspective on criminal justice matters and raises awareness of the issues. CJAG offers this bi-monthly prayer guide which we hope will be useful for personal and intercessory prayer in local parishes.
Parish Resources, a website managed by the National Church of England, to support PCCs with the everyday governance and administration of their local church has had a major redesign.
At the beginning of the year Mothers’ Union began a new triennium, with a new Diocesan President and Trustee Board.
Since starting in 2007, Earth Hour, which takes place on 22 March has been known for the “lights off” moment, with individuals around the world switching off their lights to show support for the planet and raise awareness of the environmental issues affecting it.
