On Saturday afternoon, the Worcester Diocesan Synod Motion on the contribution of faith to the rehabilitation of offenders was presented to General Synod in York.
15 candidates were ordained over the weekend to serve in parishes across the Diocese.
Last month, three of our curates – Mel Beynon, Richard Sandland and James Williams visited our partner diocese in central Germany as part of a ‘curate exchange’.
The Revd Becky Elliot, Vicar of Holy Trinity and St James in Malvern has been appointed as the new Dean of Women’s Ministry, a post she will hold alongside her parish role.
The Revd Andy Todd has been appointed as the new Diocesan Secretary for the Diocese of Worcester.
This year’s ordinations will take place over the weekend of 1 and 2 July. Do pray for and support all those who will be ordained either Deacon or Priest over the weekend.
The Revd Dr Roger Latham has been appointed as the new Director of Mission and Ministry for the Diocese. Roger will be responsible for leading and developing the team which will oversee our underpinning priority of equipping ministers for mission.
Damian Herbert has been appointed as the new Transformation Programme Director for the Diocese, replacing Rob Quarton who will be retiring at the end of April.
The national church has agreed in principle to allocate significant funding to our diocese over the next seven years, investing in our plans to grow as Kingdom People and supporting the priorities agreed by the Diocesan Synod.

Ten new honorary Canons have been appointed at Worcester Cathedral in recognition of their work in both the Diocese and the wider Church. Appointments are made by the Bishop of Worcester in consultation with the Chapter of the Cathedral.
