Raised for the Morogoro Bible College Scholarship Fund: £4,792.05
A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to the Lent Appeal for the Morogoro Bible Scholarship Fund. The amount raised will make a big difference to the College.
Last year the College had 70 students whom they house and feed. This year there are 102 students. This is a wonderful sign of the Gospel ministry of the Diocese. New leaders are needed to make rooted disciples of Jesus, and the Bible College has a key role in the training of evangelists, catechists, deacons and priests. Many of these come from mission areas where churches are being planted. There is not enough in the collections, which are often in kind (vegetables, wood, etc.), to train the up and coming leaders. We hope that this fund will enable strong, educated leadership to be provided for the most needy but least wealthy areas. They will always be encouraged to provide what they can, so that scholarships will usually be partial. Alumni and their churches will be encouraged to ‘repay’ into the Fund when they can, so that others can benefit too.
Following the Revd Pasis Simon’s visit to various training pathways in the UK, the Bible College is broadening its ministry to offer, shorter courses and evening trainings, all of which will be supported by this scholarship fund.
The giving code for the Morogoro Bible College Scholarship Fund (2160-MBIB) remains active and contributions can be made to it at any time. We encourage home groups, study groups, Lent, Advent, ALM, LLM and other courses to encourage donations towards this Fund. It is a wonderful way for our Diocese to make a real difference.
Thank you
