People sitting eating lunch in Wyre PiddleSt Anne’s church in Wyre Piddle hosted a very happy lunch get-together last Thursday in their village hall in support of the Friends of the Holy Land.

They welcomed 33 or so from across the Five Alive parish, together consuming five large pans of home-made soup!

Alison Maddocks and Doug Chaplin standing in front of the presentationThe Revd Doug Chaplin shared a presentation of the 2023 Diocesan trip to the land where the Christian story began and the Revd Alison Maddocks movingly shared her appreciation of the visit she and her husband Nigel made only last year – and a reflection of what has happened out there since.

The Revd Sue Oliver, trustee of the Friends of the Holy Land - explained how this UK based charity ensures that any funds raised reach the charity base office. £450 was raised in today and the parish are grateful for all the support given at Easter time.
