St Giles Church in Bredon has won the Worcestershire CPRE best kept churchyard competition in the category for churchyards over one acre.
After being closed for almost a year to allow a major re-ordering project to take place, St Helen’s on the High Street in Worcester was formally re-opened on Tuesday 3 October by Bishop John.
During October we celebrate Black History Month, recognising and celebrating the invaluable contributions of black people to British society.
Bishop John has blessed and dedicated the new organ at Pershore Abbey. The service of dedication came at the end of the parish’s ‘organ festival’ – a weekend full of concerts and activities to celebrate the new Ruffatti organ.
The Archdeacon of Worcester, Robert Jones will retire on 30 November. There will be a chance to say goodbye and thank you to Robert at Evensong in the Cathedral at 4pm on 19 November.
Ten candidates were ordained as Deacons on Sunday to serve in parishes across the Diocese. The candidates have been part of a new training pathway aimed at those who see their vocation as being non-stipendiary (voluntary) ministers to churches in their local area.

Five people from parishes across the Diocese were admitted to the office of Reader on Saturday in Worcester Cathedral. Bishop John conducted the service, licensing the individuals to minister in the parishes they have been called to serve.
