There have been a number of celebrations for the Mothers' Union recently.
Over the weekend of the 9-10 August, the Mothers’ Union will be celebrating their founder, Mary Sumner; in January they celebrated the arrival of their new Worldwide President Kathleen Snow, from Canada; in April six members from the Diocese of Worcester met Kathleen in Coventry; and across the world plans are afoot to celebrate the organisation’s 150th anniversary next year with prayer, praise, fundraising and publicity.
Mothers’ Union President, Jill Crofton said:
“We are encouraging others to JOIN US, JOIN IN! Our practical projects reach prisons, refuges, hospitals, and families needing short breaks or days out together. Here, our latest, newly started, pilot literacy project in Long Lartin Prison aims to increase confidence among prisoners in keeping in touch with their families during a long jail term. Please pray for Nicki Harris, our MU worker there.”
