Diocesan Small Churches Choir

At the celebration service for small churches service held in the Cathedral last May, a number of singers expressed a wish to be able to sing together more often. Mark and Linda Blackwell from Fladbury (Nr Evesham) felt called to use their experience to try to set up a choir made up from singers from the small churches across the Diocese to sing at occasional services at Worcester and other cathedrals.

Remembrance: Who is my neighbour?

At the Remembrance Sunday service in the Cathedral, Bishop Martin preached on the question asked of Jesus: 'Who is my Neighbour?' He has written an opinion piece for local media based on that sermon.

Climate COP30 begins in earnest today, 10 November and runs to 21 November in Belim in Brazil, in the heart of the Amazon. An Anglican delegation is attending led by Archbishop Marinez of Brazil.

Partnership with iSingPOP extended after successful first year

Parishes across the Diocese working with Kirsty Pierson from iSingPOP this year, have reported how much this support has helped them reach new families and children. Following this the pilot has been extended to see how this initial success can be further embedded and built on.

Claines Church to launch new ‘Bubble Church’ service thanks to grant funding

In January 2026 Claines Church, will be launching a new and exciting church service for children called ‘Bubble Church’. This has been made possible thanks to a grant from the ‘Healthier Churches Fund’.

Cascades of Poppies on churches for Remembrance

A Cross of Community and Hope

At St Thomas’ Church in Stourbridge, members of ‘Chewsday Church’ have recently unveiled a large cross, intentionally crafted with a rough and imperfect surface to reflect the brokenness of our world.

Refurbishing Harvington rectory

The clergy housing team have recently worked on Harvington Rectory following the departure of the Rector there after 24 years in post. The team had just three months to prepare the house before the new Rector and his family moved in.

Bromsgrove Spire restoration completed

The long-awaited restoration of the landmark spire at St John’s Church in Bromsgrove has been completed, with the re-gilded weathervane cockerel returning to its lofty perch to enjoy the view for decades to come,

New Children and Families Worker for St Peter’s Bengeworth

Former primary school teacher Emily Holmes has recently joined St Peter’s Bengeworth in Evesham as ‘Children and Families Worker’. Emily is keen to bring more families into church and has a real heart for creating neurodiverse-friendly spaces where all children feel safe and valued.

Silver Church & School Partnership Award presented

Red Hill CE Primary and St Martin’s Church, London Road, Worcester have received a silver Church and School Partnership Award. It was presented to them by Archdeacon Mark and Diocesan Director of Education, Tim Reid in a special service in the church.

Exploring the mission opportunities of new housing

Speakers spoke about the process that new developments go through, how churches can get involved and different ways in which churches can come alongside those in new homes and help to build community.
