Bishop John has celebrated 10 years as the Bishop of Worcester in a special service in Worcester Cathedral.
The Bishop of Dudley, Graham Usher has presented Paul West, the former Chief Constable of West Mercia Police, with the Cross of St. Wulfstan, an award that pays tribute to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the life of the Church.
Almost 40 people in groups from Cradley Heath, Offenham, Ombersley and Worester have received a special certificate from the Bishop of Worcester.
The Revd Canon Alex Vaccaro, Associate Priest in the Kidderminster Ismere Parish and the Revd Hazel Charlton, Vicar of St Peter in Lapal have been appointed to new roles supporting different groups of clergy in the Diocese of Worcester.
The Bishop of Dudley, Graham Usher, left the diocese at the weekend to become the Bishop of Norwich. Two celebrations were held in Worcester and Dudley to reflect the role Bishop Graham has played throughout the whole diocese.
Worcester Mayor Steve Mackay will host a Holocaust Memorial Day event in the Guildhall on Saturday 27 January at 10.30am.
A grant of over 5 million has been awarded to the Diocese of Worcester to enable two resourcing churches to be established in Worcester and Dudley. All Saints Church in Worcester and StThomas & St Luke in Dudley Top Church will each receive funding.
14 candidates were ordained over the weekend to serve in parishes across the Diocese, with more deacons being ordained than there has been for many years.
Dr John Preston, currently National Stewardship Officer for the Church of England has been appointed as the new Diocesan Secretary for the Diocese of Worcester.
The Bishops of Worcester and Dudley will join church members in Evesham and the surrounding villages for a weekend of community events on 16 and 17June.
Christians from every denomination will be joining together in the ruins of Dudley Priory on Sunday 20 May at 2.30pm to pray for the life of the Borough and give thanks to God for all who live and work there.
Christians from across the county will come together for a Pentecost service at the Cathedral at 6.30pm on Sunday 20 May.
