Introducing Helen Laird C&YP Worker for three Worcester churches

In Autumn 2023 three churches in Worcester joined together to recruit a full-time Children and Young People Worker following a successful application to the Healthier Churches Fund. Helen Laird was appointed.

Worcester Passion Play 2024

Last Easter, more than a thousand people came to watch a live open-air performance of the Passion Play in Cathedral Square on Good Friday. This year's play will take place on 29 March.

Canon Paul Tongue receives Wulfstan Cross

Bishop John recently presented Canon Paul Tongue with the Cross of St Wulfstan in recognition of his exceptional service to the Diocese of Worcester over many years. The award was presented to Paul while he was in hospital ahead of his sad death on Tuesday 30 January.

Hidden history being uncovered at Great Malvern Priory

At Great Malvern Priory, the nave floor is currently being levelled so that people will no longer trip up and fall off the pew plinths that were left there when the Victorians restored the church. As part of the work, the Priory had a visit from Victoria Bryant, the diocesan Archaeological Advisor.

New joint appointment for the dioceses of Worcester and Hereford
