New diocesan Director of Finance

Shaun Mooney with his familyShaun Mooney has been appointed as the new Director of Finance for the Diocese. In this role, Shaun will lead the finance team responsible for looking after and accounting for the finances of the Diocesan Board of Finance as well as a large number of trust funds, including parochial trusts on behalf of parishes across Worcestershire and Dudley.

Shaun comes to the Diocese from working at the accounting firm Bishop Fleming where he joined as a trainee and was promoted through to senior manager, working with charity clients and other large businesses. He has also worked previously at John Yelland and Co where he assisted in auditing the DBF accounts as well as spending some time with Crowe who are our current auditors!

Shaun said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new diocesan Director of Finance. I was keen to take on a role which was about making a difference as well as work somewhere where I would be challenged and continue to develop my skills. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know a new group of people and working with the finance team to support churches across the diocese.”

Shaun was born in Worcester and attended Worcester University. He continues to live locally with his wife, two young children (with a third on the way) and two dogs. In his spare time, he is a keen marathon runner. He will start in this new role on 24 April.
