CoE Route map to Net Carbon Zero

Wind turbinesThe Diocesan Climate Crisis Group is encouraging parishes to engage with the Church of England’s Route map to Net Zero Carbon by 2030. The document was approved by General Synod in July and has recently been published on the Church of England’s website.

Hugh Burton, Chair of the diocesan Climate Crisis task group said:

“The Route map provides really practical ways of reducing our carbon footprint.  It is also pretty detailed, so watch out for training sessions to accompany the document - or enjoy the summary and check out the new videos on the C of E website for further inspiration and help”

Bishop Graham Usher, Bishop of Norwich is the Church of England’s Lead Bishop on the Environment and was involved in helping to produce the report. He said:

“There is no question that achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2030 is an almighty challenge, but this detailed Route map, that has been developed in partnership across the whole Church, sets out a practical and pragmatic way to making this a reality. This is a crucial decade for the planet, and I want to approach the challenge of Net Zero Carbon with a hope-filled realism that we can achieve this together.”
