Susan Price isretiring from her role as The Childrens Society Diocesan Ambassador after 18 years.
Since moving toBewdley, Susan started fundraising for The Childrens Society by starting houseto house collections and making marmalade. In 1970, Susan and her late husbandheld the very first meeting of the Bewdley Appeals Committee, so rather thanher doing lots of fundraising on her own, she had the support of a groupof people and was therefore able to raise even more money for The ChildrensSociety. In 2003, Susan also became a Volunteer Speaker and Diocesan Ambassadorfor The Childrens Society, helping them to reach a far greater audience and impact the lives of many morechildren and young people.
As DiocesanAmbassador, Susan has represented The Childrens Society within Worcesterdiocese, networked with the Church, raised awareness about their work, supportedother volunteers, and identified new opportunities for support from the localcommunity.
Susan said: For well over fiftyyears I have been a fundraiser and ambassador for this great organisation, butnow am hoping to hand over to someone younger.
Roseann Thompson, Relationship Manager for The Childrens Society, said: Susan is an absolutedelight to work alongside. Her positivity and passion for helping others shinesthrough in absolutely everything she does. My highlight of working with Susanover the last few years is most definitely watching her receive a BritishEmpire Medal for her services to charity and to the community in Bewdley. Itwas both a pleasure and privilege to be there with her.
Susan continues tosupport The Childrens Society in her role as a fundraising committee memberand Volunteer Speaker.
