Priest in Charge of St James, Wollaston

Published: 7th March 2022

Due to our lack of success in appointing to the vacant post in the joint benefice, and the opportunities presented by the new Ministry Share Scheme, it has been proposed and agreed that the right of presentation to the joint benefice of Norton and Wollaston should be suspended. A Priest-in-Charge will therefore be appointed to each of the two churches.

In the case of St Michael’s, the PCC have agreed to work on a plan (approved in draft by the diocesan finance team) to increase their level of Ministry Share over the next two years to cover the cost of a full-time stipendiary post. This post is being advertised.

For St James, where Ministry Share levels are substantially lower, it has been agreed that only a half-time post is sustainable.

Bishop John is pleased to announce the appointment of the Reverend Diana Farmer as Priest-in-Charge of St James, Wollaston; this is a half-time post.

Bishop Martin will license Diana on Tuesday 24 May at 6.30pm at St James’, Wollaston.

Please remember Diana in your prayers at this time of transition.
