Poppies at Astley School

Astley CE Primary School have marked the centenary of the end ofWorld War One with a poppy installation of their own.

Astley School poppy installationChildren in Stay and Play and Elm Class have been busyrecently turning the bottom of plastic bottles into poppies. These were thendisplayed outside the front of the school by Mrs Ablett, who co-ordinated thisventure.

Mrs Reakes-Williams, Headteacher, said:

"This has been alovely way to give children the opportunityto remember those who gave their lives for our country or were injured or lostloved ones. They see these poppies as they arrive in school and as they playoutside each day. It is so important to remember, respect and reflect as aschool community each year."
