The Church of England will be launching a national volunteer recruitment toolkit in early summer next year and have asked five dioceses to pilot the resources and provide feedback.
Our diocese, along with the dioceses of Derby, Durham, Exeter and Leicester will be sent the resources at the start of January and are looking for churches to run the recruitment campaigns in late January and early February, ready to feedback at the end of February.
There will be a short film for churches to play in services and feature on social media channels. This will be accompanied by a poster and leaflet that can be edited to include contact details, plus social media slides featuring people from the film. There will also be guidance on how to recruit well and manage volunteers effectively going forward.
Children and Youth Adviser, Simon Hill said: "This has been a fantastic project to be involved in, and the film is really inspiring. It tells a wonderful story of the difference our volunteer leaders make, and how much it changes them too. I’m really excited about this new resource drawing in more people on the adventure of ministry with children and young people."
If your parish would like to recruit new volunteers to serve children and young people this could be a great opportunity to access the resources early and provide feedback that will serve churches across the country. Contact Simon to see if you can be involved.
