New Strategic Manager appointed

Diane Reeves has been appointed as Strategic ProgrammeManager in the diocesan office. Funded through a grant from the ArchbishopsCouncil, Diane will help manage our programme of projects in our four priorityareas under the Kingdom People vision: children and young people; deepeningdiscipleship, strengthening stewardship; and creating mission-focussedbuildings.

Diane joins the diocesan office from the NHS. She has spentthe last 17 years in NHS Management working in the Sandwell and Birmingham area,most recently as Chief Accountable Officer for a Clinical Commissioning Group.Before moving into Management she worked as a GP. She is also a lifelong memberof the Church of England, currently worshipping at St. Peters Church inHarborne, Birmingham, where she leads intercessions, reads the lesson andenjoys helping with the coffee after the service!

Diane said: I recently completed the Diocese ofBirminghams 3D Course (similar to the Bishops Certificate) and had the opportunityto think about what I wanted to do in the future and whether God was calling mein a different direction. When I saw the advert, it seemed like a great matchwith my skillset and Im really looking forward to using my experience to helpbring Gods Kingdom closer.

My role as an NHS Manager was all about encouraging peopleto achieve to their full potential. Im planning to bring this management styleto the role of Strategic Project Manager I wont be there to tell people whatto do, but to help enable different groups to work together in delivering theKingdom People vision. Itll be a bigchange from the NHS and at the start Ill be spending a lot of time listening,but Im really excited about moving into this new role and working with a widerange of people.

Diocesan Secretary, Robert Higham, said: This is a greatappointment. Diane brings a wealth of project management experience and willreally help us with the implementation of projects in our four priority areas.Were very grateful to the Archbishops Council for the grant to fund thispost.

Diane is a single parent to four grown-up children and ownsa dog and four rabbits. In her spare time she enjoys walking in thecountryside, swimming and discovering history. She also attends classes toimprove her French.
