National Children's Day 2022

Published: 4th April 2022

Choir girlsSunday 15 May is National Children's Day. Diocesan Children's Officer, Emma Pettifer encourages churches to use the day to celebrate children and families.

National Children’s Day (www.nationalchildrensdayuk.com) is a day dedicated to the importance of a healthy childhood, and how we need to protect the rights and freedoms of children and young people to ensure that they can grow into happy, healthy adults.

This is also a day of celebration and brings lots of opportunities to raise awareness about projects you are running for children, or things children care about in the world. No matter how big or small I encourage you to run a child-centred activity on the day or a day leading up to this day!

You could also dedicate time in your services to pray for your children and their families, and those children and families in our diocese, as it is a Sunday your service could be an everyone together service to celebrate the children – throw them a party of praise, so they know Christ created them to have a voice.

I am here to enable you and support you if needed – enjoy celebrating children!
