Mark Safeguarding Sunday in your parish

Image of a man holding a Safeguarding Sunday posterOn Sunday 17 November, join thousands of churches from diverse backgrounds and traditions across the UK to shout about safeguarding and help protect vulnerable people.

Every year churches across the country unite to mark Safeguarding Sunday. It’s a chance to listen and to talk together about how places can be created that are safer for everyone.

The theme and focus for this year is – ‘Let’s talk about it’, encouragint churches to have open and honest conversations about what we’ve got wrong and what we’re getting right. It’s an opportunity to talk about how we can work together to prevent abuse and create a world where every child and adult can feel and be safe.

this initiative, spearheaded by Thirtyone:eight invites communities to come together to reflect on their own safeguarding journey, and to highlight and celebrate all the good work that is being done by so many behind the scenes.

Could you mark Safeguarding Sunday in your church in some way? Whether that's just for a few minutes or for the whole service, you can find all the information you need on the Safeguarding Sunday website

Last year over 4,000 churches took part in Safeguarding Sunday, with an estimated reach of 240,000 people. Why not join them this year!
