Faith through Films resource

Faith through films resourceFaith through films is the latest resource from the Calling Young Disciples team, which uses different films to explore a theme linked to a bible passage.

Each resource sheet has a link to the film preview, highlights the bible reference, offers an exploration of the theme using the film and includes personal challenges for the young people to think about and/or do along with a prayer.

CYD Mission Enabler, Helen Laid said:

“This resource can be used in at least two ways.  A church could forward the pdf on a monthly basis to the young people in their congregations for the young person to engage with at home, or the resource could be the starting point for a youth session, or all-age service. Do feel free to use these resources however they might serve you best – we pray they will be a blessing to you and your young people.”

Faith through films has a total of 24 different pdfs to download and use - find them here.  The resources are split across two sections, Screen 1 and Screen 2, with each screen containing 12 resource sheets each based on a different film.  Screen 1 is aimed at those 8 – 11 and uses films classifies as U (Universal) or PG (parental guidance) by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), Screen 2 uses U, PG or 12 (suitable for 12 years and over).

The website also includes some guidance on how these might be used. Faith through Films has developed from the already successful Your Baptism Journey (based on books) and Faith through Cartoons series of resources.
