St George’s and Claines churches in Worcester gave their local primary schools the opportunity to Experience Easter in an engaging way this year. Six stations were set up around the churches, which take the children through Holy Week, from Palm Sunday through to Easter Sunday.
Each station discusses the Biblical event and then asks the children to consider something for themselves.
Palm Sunday was about the Hopes and Dreams of the people in Jerusalem, as Jesus arrived riding on a Donkey, the children were asked what their hopes and dreams were, while holding a stone which was placed at the foot of a cross as they left the station.
Some of the comments included:
“The children offered some really thought-provoking comments demonstrating how engaged they were at the various stations.”
“Thank you for inviting Riversides pupils to the wonderful Easter Experience. It was so lovely to see the boys engage and hear the story in such a meaningful way.”
“A huge thank you for Experience Easter this week! The children really enjoyed it and have been talking about it a lot since. The staff were also very positive about the range of activities and how the children engaged.”
