Christingle Marmalade!

Published: 13th January 2023

Child with ChristingleGreat Malvern Priory used leftover Christingle oranges to create some limited-edition Christingle Marmalade which was then sold to raise money for the church!

Christingle service at Malvern PrioryOver 800 people attended two different Christingle services at Great Malvern Priory before Christmas. All remaining oranges were gathered up and shared between a willing band of volunteers who created Christingle Marmalade.

Philippa Lowe from the Priory explained:

Jar of Christingle Marmalade“It was fantastic to see so many people sharing the hope and light of Christ at our Christingle services and it was an awful lot of oranges! We are dedicated to reducing our impact on God’s creation, so we collected up all those which remained and created our Christingle Marmalade or Christinglade! Many products claim to be a 'taste of Christmas', but you'd be hard pushed to find a more authentic spread for your breakfast toast.  The limited-edition jars were put on sale in the Priory at Epiphany and sold out immediately, raising funds for the restoration of the unique Mediaeval windows.”

Well done to all our churches who found ways to make their Christmas services as eco-friendly as possible!
