A buzzing idea for a Summer Fete!

Bishamptons annual Summer Fete, taking place on theafternoon of Saturday 29th June, previously featured a paintingcompetition which proved extremely popular, but this year organisers decided toring the changes. Working with local artist, Carolyn Morris, students from local First schools, including Flyford Flavell and Church Lench, willbe starting work on the project after the Easter holidays, but the competitionis open to all local children. The competition will fall into three agegroups: 6 years and under; 7-8 and 9-11. Children will be using materials such as milk bottles and packagingmaterials to produce their version of a Brilliant Bee, with prizesfor the winning entries.

Carolyn Morris said, We thought this would be a good challenge to do, knowingwhat emphasis there is on doing our best for bees, and also on recyclingmaterials."

The entries should:

  • Bee environmentally friendly (made of recycledmaterials)
  • Bee named with a brilliant bee name!
  • Bee able to fly around (sticks available with entryforms)
  • Bee fantastic!

The children are looking forward to getting their creative heads on, sowe are anticipating some interesting results! Carolyn continued.

Anyone interested in taking part can either contact Carolyn directly by email on carolynmorrisuk@gmail.com,or collect a form from Bishampton Village Stores after Easter.
