Anthea Elston, Associate Priest at Berrow w Pendock, Eldersfield, Hollybush & Birtsmorton in the South of the Diocese has challenged herself to run a 10K 60 times, along 60 different routes, to celebrate her 60th birthday year!
She is raising money for St Richard's Hospice after witnessing the difference hospice care made to close friends and their loved ones and has currently raised £1,785, beating her initial target of £600!
Anthea said: "I wanted to give myself a bit of a challenge to celebrate my 60th year on the planet, and my amazing niece and Personal Trainer, suggested running 60 10ks! I’ve made it slightly more difficult for myself by wanting to never run exactly the same route twice….so every run becomes a little adventure, a voyage of discovery.
It occurred to me that I could also use the challenge to raise money for a good cause and St Richard's Hospice does so much to enable everyone to live the best quality of life they can right up until the end. It’s such a light-filled, beautiful, positive place and does such amazing work. I'm very happy to raise any small amount to help that work to continue.”
Anthea has completed 36 10Ks so far, with many taking place on the Malvern Hills.
