Tardebigge parish have launched a new Forest Cafe church at St Bartholomew's that meets on the first Sunday of the month.
Last Thursday, Oasis UK founder Steve Chalke shared his ‘Manifesto for Hope’ with attendees from churches across the Diocese at an evening event at Top Church. ‘Manifesto for Hope’ sets out 10 principles for transforming the lives of children and young people and their families, and how churches can and should be involved in that.
Debra Hill has been recruited as Children and Families Worker for the Worcester Southeast Team and St. Barnabas. Debra has lots of ideas and is very keen to get going. She hopes to see children’s ministry flourish at all the churches.
Top Church (St Thomas & St Luke’s Church) held a heritage Open Day on Saturday 7th September to showcase their innovative Digital Tour which aims to share the history of the church and the role it has played in supporting the residents of Dudley.
‘Experience Dudley’ is a faith, community and heritage project that started as a pilot at Top Church in 2022, partnering with one local school. Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this year staff have been able to expand it to partner with three local schools, reaching close to 1000 children.
Cradley CE Primary School and the community came together at St Peter's Church for a special service to celebrate the year 6 leavers.

Many schools and parishes in our diocese enjoy iSingPop visiting for one-off events, bringing their dance routines and faith-based songs for the children to learn. NWC Enabler Kim Brown visited a church and school in Gloucestershire who have taken it further, creating a new worshipping community in the school hall.
Lightbox is a pop-up initiative run by a collaboration of churches in Worcester. It aims to provide a safe space and opportunities for young people to build community with each other through fun activities, discussion groups and challenges.
Project Touchline recently delivered a six-week programme of sport, collective worship, Bible teaching and prayer for the children and teachers at Broadwas CE Primary.
In Autumn 2023 three churches in Worcester joined together to recruit a full-time Children and Young People Worker following a successful application to the Healthier Churches Fund. Helen Laird was appointed.
On Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd February St James church in Norton Worcester hosted an exhibition of local school children’s artwork.
A new cross-diocesan appointment will see Gemma Martin become the next Diocesan Director of Education for Hereford Diocese and our Diocesan Director of Education, Tim Reid supporting Gemma as Executive Director of Education across both dioceses.

Children from Cropthorne with Charlton C of E First School and Fladbury C of E First School sang with the Five Alive Parish Choir at the Candlelit Carol Service on Sunday at Fladbury.
Norton Juxta Kempsey and Whittington Church of England Primary Schools have been working with iSingPop to host two intergenerational workshops where parents, grandparents, and members of the local community have come into school to learn Christmas songs and dances alongside the children.
