The latest Bishop’s teaching morning was focussed on setting out a prophetic challenge to climate and economic injustice.
Canon Rosemary Lawley sadly died on 11 January following a battle with MND. Her funeral will take place on Monday 16 February at 12 noon at St Mary’s in Kidderminster.
New resources are encouraging parishes to take action to prevent sexual harassment and misogyny in our churches, and to ensure that any incidents are recognised and dealt with properly.
Last year, the National Giving Team with nfpResearch, conducted a survey of 2,000 Anglicans to discover more about their giving habits. On 17 January, we will officially welcome Hugh Nelson as the next Bishop of Worcester. As he joins us, he will be spending time getting to know Worcestershire and Dudley and its people as well as finding out more about what’s happening in our churches.
Bishop Hugh Nelson was officially confirmed as the 114th Bishop of Worcester by the Bishop of London, Dame Sarah Mullally at a special service at St Mary-le-Bow Church in London on Friday.
The clergy housing team have recently worked on Harvington Rectory following the departure of the Rector there after 24 years in post. The team had just three months to prepare the house before the new Rector and his family moved in.
Red Hill CE Primary and St Martin’s Church, London Road, Worcester have received a silver Church and School Partnership Award. It was presented to them by Archdeacon Mark and Diocesan Director of Education, Tim Reid in a special service in the church.

Faith at Work in Worcestershire (FWW) is an independent ecumenical charity which exists to encourage and support local churches in their ministry to those in work. The charity supports around 20 volunteers who offer chaplaincy to local businesses, working particularly in the retail sector and Worcester Livestock Market.
Three candidates were ordained as Deacons on Sunday to serve in parishes across the Diocese. They were all part of the Auxiliary Pathway - a training pathway aimed at those who see their vocation as being non-stipendiary (voluntary) ministers to churches in their local area.
Six people from parishes across the Diocese were admitted to the office of Reader on Saturday in Worcester Cathedral. The Bishop of Dudley, Martin Gorick, conducted the service, licensing the individuals to minister in the parishes they have been called to serve.
Hugh Nelson was elected as the new Bishop of Worcester in an historic ceremony in Worcester Cathedral yesterday. This marks the next stage in the process which will end in Bishop Hugh’s official start in the Diocese with a service of welcome in the Cathedral on 17 January.
The latest clergy study day focussed on how churches and schools could be partners in mission. Led by the diocesan Education team, clergy from across the Diocese gathered together to explore how churches can best support our local schools and work together with them.

Three people on the Auxiliary Pathway will be ordained Deacon at the Cathedral on Sunday 28 September at 6.30pm. All are welcome to attend and support the candidates.
