During May, some 35 Readers (Licensed Lay Ministers) from across the Diocese came together at Holland House for the annual weekend of teaching and meeting and catching up.
This year the weekend was wonderfully and sensitively led by Helen Stanton, Warden for Holland House, and took the form of a semi-retreat centred around the theme of “How Can We Sing The Lord’s Song In A Strange Land?”
In particular, Readers were able to consider how do we proclaim the Good News of Jesus in a broken world, with broken relationships and0 broken lives?
Co-warden of Readers, Kath Davis said:
“It was a wonderful weekend of teaching and reflection, the weather was great, the food was great, the company was great. It was also a privilege that Bishop Martin was able to join with those who were able to stay for the Sunday, to preside at the Eucharist and to share fellowship over lunch.”
