Spencer Morris has been appointed as the new Deputy Director of Education for the Diocese of Worcester. He replaces Tim Reid who was promoted to Director of Education last year and will strengthen the support that the Diocesan Education Team is able to offer to church schools across Worcestershire and Dudley.
Spencer will join the diocesan team in September from his current role as Headteacher at Red Hill Church of England Primary in Worcester, where he has been for the past 13 years. Prior to that he also worked at Hallow CoE Primary and Cherry Orchard Primary Schools.
Spencer said:
“This new role is an exciting opportunity for me to work with schools across the Diocese. I have been well supported during my time as Head of Red Hill and it will be nice to be able to pass that support on to others. I am sad to be leaving Red Hill, but I’m ready for the next challenge and am looking forward to visiting different schools and supporting the staff and children there.”
Diocesan Director of Education, Tim Reid said:
“I’m delighted that Spencer is joining our team. His experience of church school leadership and commitment to the Church of England’s vision for Education will be an invaluable asset to our team. We look forward to seeing Spencer build trusted relationships with the 100 schools in the Diocese, supporting them in their Christian distinctiveness and achieving strong academic outcomes for the children and young people they serve. The additional capacity Spencer will bring to our team will help us ensure that every child in our schools has the opportunity to flourish in an everchanging educational landscape.”
