This autumn we’re introducing a new monthly programme of events under the umbrella title “Lunchtime Learning”. It’s intended to share something of the wealth of resources we have within the Diocese between all our parishes.
From our experience of the pandemic, we learnt that Zoom lets us share expertise and interests we have around the diocese in short sessions. We can just take a break for learning, meet up without having to travel, and explore something interesting together.
Anyone who is interested in a particular month’s topic is welcome to attend – each session will run from 12.30 – 1.30pm in the middle of the week. As it’s on Zoom you should bring your own lunch! The speaker will introduce the subject for 20 – 30 minutes and then there will be a time of discussion.
Three sessions are planned for each term, each focussing on a different topic:
Autumn theme - Spirituality and Prayer
- Sept: The Enneagram and the Life of Faith
- Oct: Praying With Images or Stepping into the Encounter
- Nov: Franciscan Spirituality Today)
Winter theme – Explorations in the Bible
- Jan: How Green is my bible?
- Feb: Reading while Black
- March: Changing my mind with the bible)
Summer theme – The Church in Society
- April: The Church and the future of work
- May: The Church and the future of education
- June: The Church and the future of politics)
Each session will be standalone – book for one or book for many! Download the flyer to find out more and book for the Autumn sessions.
