Great Witley Church launches Crowdfunding Appeal

Published: 16th October 2024

Great Witley Church has launched a crowdfunding appeal through Spacehive and Crowdfund Malvern Hills (for match funding) to improve the driveway access to this special church.

The unique Baroque church in Great Witley is one of 300 churches across the country to be designated as a Major Church.  Sitting next to Witley Court, both the church and the tea rooms next door are fantastic community assets, but the drive to access them has become impassable in places.

Puddles on the driveway to great Witley churchChurchwarden, Angela Snow said: “It is vital that the road leading to our wonderful church is improved to enable the local community and visitors to fully enjoy the use of both the building itself and our tearooms. With its location next to Witley Court, it is frequently used by wheelchairs and mobility scooters as well as walkers, cyclists, horses and motorised vehicles. Although two of the worst sections now have a tarmac surface, temporary repairs close to the church are not holding during wet weather.”

Crowdfund Malvern Hills will match fund the amount raised. For full information about the campaign and to make a donation visit: https://www.spacehive.com/upgrade-witley-court-drive-access
