Twenty-five people recently completed an Alpha course in the Teme valley, which was supported by a grant from the Healthier Churches Fund.
St Mary’s Church in Madresfield was the setting for a leap day wedding on 29 February. The happy couple, Sophie and Steven Mason had waited for this date and worked with the church to have their wedding in Lent.
The 12 Anglican churches which make up the new Redditch Mission Area came together for the Make Christmas Special Toy Appeal 2023 providing Christmas gifts to 605 children.
On Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd February St James church in Norton Worcester hosted an exhibition of local school children’s artwork.
Malvern Link with Cowleigh has started an after-school club for local families in the hall at the Church of the Ascension. Parents with primary school age children can come along to the club, to do craft and games together and then have a hot meal.
Christ Church Quarry Bank have this week launched a much-needed Toddler group at the church, made possible thanks to a grant from the Kingdom People Fund.
Kingswinford with Wall Heath and St John in Halesowen are the first churches to have national funding released.

Church @ 4 is a cafe style New Worshipping Community run by St Leonard’s Church in Beoley to the north-east of Redditch. It has been running since May and takes place monthly, at the YMCA Willow Trees Community Centre in Church Hill, Redditch.
The whole village gets involved in the Madresfield Walk of Wonder, a free event being held over the weekend of 9 & 10 December.
St Peter’s Church in Lapal, Halesowen has been reaching out to local care homes with two new worshipping communities.
Clent Connect is a community hub, shop and café, owned and run by the local community. It’s non-profit making, and with volunteer help, this makes the shop viable and the prices reasonable.
As we head into Advent and the Christmas season, there will be a host of services and fundraising events taking place in our churches. Make the most of them with some strategies and ideas from our stewardship team.
Holy Trinity & St Matthew, Ronkswood has started a new worshipping community in a local care home, which they also plan to take to other venues in the local community.
St Barnabas CE Primary in Worcester held a whole school harvest festival at St Barnabas Church this week. The service included the presentation of certificates to the winners of a harvest poetry and art competition which was run by the Church for children at the school.
Suckley Church has been shortlisted for a National Churches Trust award in the Church & Community Volunteers category – run with the Marsh Charitable Trust.
Shaun Armstrong, Curate in the Kidderminster Ismere team was given a roasting earlier in the week when he offered himself up to answer questions at a ‘Grill a Vicar’ night in his local pub.
On Saturday 2 September, St Philip and St James’ Church, Hallow, was host to a Makers’ Fayre with 20 local crafters and makers exhibiting their wares both inside and outside the church.
Churches across Worcestershire and Dudley are opening their doors for this year’s Heritage Open Days with a range of activities for all ages and a chance to discover the story behind our historic churches and the communities they serve.
The monthly family service at Holy Trinity, Belbroughton, just outside Stourbridge, is thriving thanks to the addition of a new children’s choir linked to Belbroughton CE Primary School.
