Sharing the Joy of Christmas

“The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for see - I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people …’” Luke 2.10–11

Inspired by the Church of England’s Advent theme, we’re inviting people to share short video reflections that capture moments of joy during the Christmas season, whether personal, spiritual, or communal.

What to Share

We’re asking individuals, families, schools, and churches to send us short video reflections (no more than 90 seconds) responding to one or more of these prompts:

  • What the joy of Christmas means for me
  • My favourite thing about Advent/Christmas' (a tradition, a particular service, etc.)
  • Something my church is doing this Advent/Christmas to share the joy of the season with our community
  • How does the story of Jesus’ birth bring you joy today?
  • A prayer - for those finding the season difficult, for those who have a very busy/stressful Christmas, for those thinking about coming to church for the first time or first time in a long time, for those hoping to see the season with fresh eyes this year, etc.

How to Film

  • Use a smartphone or webcam
  • Film in portrait
  • Keep background noise to a minimum
  • Keep it under 90 seconds

How to Submit

Send your video to jatkinson@cofe-worcester.org.uk using a large file transfer service such as:

Deadline: Sunday 30 November 2025

What we’ll do with your videos

We’ll share these reflections celebrating the joy of Christmas across our social media channels and website throughout Advent and Christmas. Please ensure any children appearing in the video have permission for the video to be shared online.
