Royal British Legion (GP90), Great Pilgrimage Ceremony in Ypres

The Legions Biggest ever membership event marking 90 years since the Great Pilgrimage of 1928. A decade after the end of WW1, veterans and war widows visited the battlefields of the Somme and Ypres before marching to the Menin Gate.

On 8 August 2018, 90 years to the day, Stoke Works and Hanbury Royal British Legion will be represented by Gary Gartland as branch standard bearer and Judith Burman as wreath layer in the parade to the Menin Gate, representing an entire generation that served while defending their country. A march past will take place, observed by civic and military guests from the UK, Europe and Commonwealth countries.
