A new cross-diocesan appointment will see Gemma Martin take over as the next Diocesan Director of Education for Hereford Diocese and our Diocesan Director of Education, Tim Reid supporting Gemma as Executive Director of Education across both dioceses.
Gemma is currently Head Teacher of Himbleton CE Primary School and Nursery where she has played a central role in supporting the school achieve rapid improvement. She is also School Effectiveness Adviser in the Diocese of Worcester education team and has supported school across our diocese in various capacities.
Tim said: “Gemma's appointment as the next Diocesan Director of Education for Hereford is great news. I look forward to continuing to work closely with her to enable church schools across both our dioceses to flourish in their Christian distinctiveness and ethos, as well as supporting her as she develops in this new role."
He added, “Gemma will continue to work in the Diocese of Worcester’s Education Team for two days per week, this will support effective collaboration between the two dioceses, providing additional opportunities and capacity across our wider church school community”.
Gemma said, " I am delighted to be embarking upon this exciting new opportunity as the next DDE for Hereford Diocese, whilst continuing my work within the Worcester team. I look forward to working closely with Tim in his Executive DDE role to develop effective collaboration between the two dioceses.
