Mental Health Awareness Week

Published: 3rd April 2023

Mental health awareness week logoMental Health Awareness Week runs from 15 - 21 May.

Started by The Mental Health Foundation, the week is an annual event where the whole of the UK comes together to focus on good mental health. The week aims to tackle stigma and enable people to understand and prioritise mental health.

This year’s theme is anxiety. Anxiety is an important human emotion but, in some circumstances, it can get out of hand and become a mental health problem. The good news is that anxiety can be made easier to manage. By focusing on anxiety for Mental Health Awareness Week in 2023, the Foundation hopes to improve public understanding of anxiety and share some of the things that can help prevent it from
becoming a problem.

Pray for all those who feel anxious today, saying; Lord, in times of fear and anxiety, grant that we may cast our burdens upon you, that you may bear us on the holy wings of the Spirit to the stronghold of your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
