Holy Innocents 'rocks' at 80!

The Holy InnocentsChurch, Kidderminster will soon be 80.The current church building was dedicated by the then Bishop ofWorcester, Dr. Perowne on 2 July 1938. Church member, Heather Prangley explains how they are celebrating! 

Laura Betson with HI rocks"To mark the occasion of our 80th birthday we are creating a Rock Garden. Members of the church, school children,Hall users, and other Community groups have all been invited to decorate a stone. Manyare painted, some have coverings of fabric, lace and crochet while one sports aknitted jacket.

"Joshua 4:20says What do these stones mean to you?Some of the rocks have the date of an occasion/event which must besignificant to the person who planted it, some reveal a passion for animals orflowers in their decorations. Some smallerones join up to spell out words for example, Peace.

"Anyone is mostwelcome to join the celebration and plant a stone of their own. Please take a photo of your stone or a selfie and send it to teamvicar.kwtm@gmail.com so we can include it on our facebook page and pass themessage on and encourage others to join in our birthday fun!"

Meeting children and young people

22nd January 2026

Bishop Hugh’s first Monday as Bishop of Worcester saw him spending time with two schools. He presented Broadheath CE Primary School and Lower Broadheath Church with a silver Church and School Partnership Award before visiting Wolverley CE Secondary School in Kidderminster where he met with some of the pupils.
