The people of Holy Innocents' Church are celebrating 85 years of serving the Foley Park community this summer!
All are invited to their special celebration, this Sunday, 16 July at Holy Innocents' Church. At 3pm a Celebration Church Service will take place (with provision for children) and at 4pm afternoon tea will be served.
Vicar in the Kidderminster West Team, Laura Betson, said: "We are encouraging local people to bring wedding, christening photos, nativity photos of family and friends in the church and share memories of celebrations, that look place at Holy Innocents, it would be wonderful to see how far the photos date back. The celebration will also be an opportunity for people to hear about the vision of the church going forward. We welcome new ideas for groups and activities to take place at the church to ensure it continues to thrive. Our vision is for the church to become a vibrant community hub, welcoming all, and serving the community for another 85 years…and beyond!"
A selection of stalls will be on offer, including a raffle, and an exhibition of photos as well as information about the plans for the future of the church. Wyre Forest District Council’s Community Builders will also be there to support and find out what residents would like to see at the church. They have previously worked with congregation members to introduce a seated exercise group and monthly coffee morning.
Alongside the celebrations, the Betson family will be completing a mini-triation this Saturday to raise funds for the church. Ted, Earnest and Merryn, as well as Mum and Dad will be swimming 250 metres, cycling 7 kilometres and then running 2 kilometres. They are raising money for the building transformation project at Holy Innocents’ Church: to install toilet and kitchen facilities to make our church a welcoming space for the whole community!
