If your church is planning to get involved in the Heritage Open Days this year, don’t forget to register on the website and join the 14 churches in the Diocese already signed up and planning a great range of activities. But be quick as it is the last chance to register this weekend!
Churches do need to register as both and organiser and to create a listing for their event on the national database – this means the event is searchable and gets national publicity. Just running an event in this period without registering means potential visitors won’t know it’s happening.
Assistant Church Building Officer, Kate Andrew said:
“There are lovely free branded publicity materials, handheld flags, lanyards, A4 signs, stickers and bunting available to registered organisers to order if you are quick. And for churches thinking about running big project which need outside funding, running an event during HODS it’s a really good way to gather some feedback and to demonstrate community engagement. For those that have been funded recently, it’s a great way to say thank you.”
Visit the Heritage Open Days website to start the registration process. The first Heritage Open Days weekend also coincides with Ride and Stride.
