St. Marys CE (VC) Primary School,Kingswinford had a wonderful time on Thursday 20 June , whenthey celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the school being built.
Staff, Parents, Children and Guestscame to share in the celebrations, which included a buffet lunch, beingentertained by Summerhill Schools fantastic Steel Band and having a bounce onthe Bouncy Castle!
Beverley Roberts Headteacher said: "Everyoneconnected with the school is very proud of being part of such a wonderfulschool. The school has been a great place of education and love, for all itsstakeholders over the past half century."
At the celebration the schoolcommemorated a much loved Ex-Headteacher, Mr Lilley, and his family planted amemorial tree and cut the ribbon on his remembrance bench.
Every child in the school placed astone they had decorated at the base of the tree. Each stone has an individualdesign illustrating 50 years of St. Marys and depicting the Christian valuesat the heart of the schools ethos.
