Diocesan Pilgrimage to Rome

Published: 18th December 2018

There will be a diocesan ecumenical pilgrimage to Rome from 30 September to 7 October 2019. It will be jointly led by Bishop John and RC Archbishop Bernard Longley.

They write:

"We are delighted to invite you to join us on this ecumenical pilgrimage to Rome, the centre of Western Christianity since St Peter was Bishop of Rome, a place to which the development of both our traditions owes so much. It will be a privilege to travel as brother and sister pilgrims, remembering with thanksgiving how much we have in common since those earliest days, sharing in our common faith and love of the Lord Jesus. We hope and pray that in so doing we may all the more live out that great prayer of Christ himself, that all may be one, praying for the unity of all Christians and especially for a deepening communion between Roman Catholics and Anglicans. It will be a wonderful opportunity to explore our faith, enlarge our hope, and deepen our love for the Lord. We warmly invite you to journey with us."

The cost will be 1,475 (twin/double) or 1,945 (double for single use). This includes:

  • Flight Birmingham/Rome return
