Astwood Bank Carnival just outside of Redditch was held on Saturday amidst scorching temperatures, and the village flocked to the fields to enjoy fun and fellowship together.
The Christ the King Benefice were invited to provide a ‘church tent’ and the four churches got together in style with prayer stones and space to reflect as well as friendly faces with lots of information to hand out, but perhaps most importantly a friendly dragon bubble machine and enough cake to feed the entire village!
The Revd Glenn Reading, Vicar in the Christ the King benefice said:
“A great day was had by all! It was a really busy day with old friends coming by and also making many new ones. The mountain of cake was demolished, and I returned with only 3 slices left!
Barney the bubble machine worked overtime, delighting and entertaining the children and giving parents and grandparents chance to sit in the shade for 10 minutes, share their stories and, of course, eat some cake!”
