This edition of 'small steps to save our planet' from the Diocesan Climate Crisis Group focuses on Climate Sunday.
Climate Sunday is an initiative to help churches focus on actions to help the environment in the lead up to COP26 in November 2021. It is a project of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland’s ‘Environmental Issues Network’.
Climate Sunday provides resources for churches and a way to speak out together.
Your church could get involved by:
- Holding a climate-focused service on a convenient date from the 6 September 2020.
- Encouraging congregations to make simple commitments to action addressing climate change.
- Adding to a joint call for much bolder government action.
Actions:
- Sign up with Climate Sunday. (Eco Church ref: C&G 16) https://www.climatesunday.org/
- Look through Climate Sunday’s resources (available from the end of July) and plan a climate themed service. (E.C. ref: W&T 1)
- Encourage other churches to sign up to Climate Sunday. (E.C. ref: C&G additional notes)
