Called to Action - Church cleaning cupboard

This edition of 'small steps to save our planet' from the Diocesan Climate Crisis Group asks churches to look at what is in their church cleaning cupboard!

Cleaning products are often chemical based and come in plastic containers.

Dusters might be ‘disposable’ or may contain polluting microfibres.

What do you use to clean the brass?

Are toilet rolls and paper towels made of recycled paper?

Actions:

 Eco Church refs: Buildings 16/17, C&G 19/21

Cleanse me with Hyssop and I shall be clean. Psalm 51

Look at cheaper, traditional solutions like vinegar, baking soda, salt or lemon juice, and even ketchup for brass cleaning. Get knitting and make cotton cloths. Source shops which refill e.g. GL2 Malvern, Pack-it-in Worcester etc.
