Bromsgrove Churches offer sanctuary from Brexit tensions

As the Brexit deadline approaches, the Church of England inBromsgrove has launched @1, a daily opportunity to seek respite from allthe worries and anxieties of Brexit by offering safe space in St Johns Churchat 1pm each lunchtime. Every day there will be a 'listener' on hand who will bepleased to sit with residents, listen to their concerns and offer them to God.

Revd David Ford, Team Rector of Bromsgrove said: Churcheshave always offered their local communities safe space or sanctuary - inwhich to simply 'be', pray or talk about what is uppermost in their minds.Whatever your own views on BREXIT, this is a difficult time of uncertainty. Wehope that by fulfilling the churches traditional role of offering sanctuary, asafe space, our communities can find the peace and the courage we need forwhatever lies ahead.

@1 will begin on the 17 October, the dayof the European Council meeting, and continue at least until 1 November.

St John the Baptist is in Bromsgrove town centre onKidderminster Road (B61 7JW) and is open every day for visitors and privateprayer. The Church of England in Bromsgrove consists of six churches acrossBromsgrove, Catshill, Finstall, Charford and Dodford.
