19 people have received a certificate from Bishop John to mark the completion of their courses to become ALMs. The special service at the Cathedral was a celebration of this form of lay ministry.

Five new Lay Ministers licensed
Five people from parishes across the Diocese were admitted to the office of Reader on Saturday. Bishop Martin conducted the service, licensing the individuals to minister in the parishes they have been called to serve.
Book of Prayer published ahead of coronation
The Church of England is calling for a period of prayer leading up to the Coronation and has released a book of Daily Prayers for the Coronation of King Charles III. There is also now a page on the Church of England's website with resources for churches.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we see so many people stepping up and selflessly serving others. It is the model Jesus gives at his Last Supper, the model the Queen has embodied for so many years, and it is the model we see all around us as so many people, in work – especially in the NHS – and as volunteers, selflessly serve those who are in need.
