Created: 3rd July 2025 at 09:33

Summary:

Holy Trinity Church, a Grade II listed building, seeks a contractor for re-ordering works funded by the Church of England, including a new floor, underfloor heating, masonry repairs, fire upgrades, and quality joinery adaptations.

Location:

Holy Trinity, Old Hill

Job description:

Holy Trinity Church is a Grade II listed building, with the main body dating from circa 1875 and a newer mid 20th Century extension connected to the south-west elevation. The Church is a thriving hub and valued part of the community, however, in order to ensure future sustainability it is pursuing re-ordering works to grow membership and support its mission.

The proposed works are described in the tender documents but briefly comprise of; removal of the existing pews and flooring to the main worship space to allow for installation of a new open plan floor with underfloor heating, upgrading of services, repair of masonry with lime mortars, fire upgrades, adaption of existing joinery, and installation of new doorways. A large part of the brief involves assessment of existing elements for material salvage and adaption into the project, as such an experienced joiner with high attention to detail is expected to undertake relevant works. Furthermore, a Contractor with experience in working on heritage projects with use of traditional materials, to include lime mortars, is a pre-requisite.

We look forward to working with the chosen Contractor to realise this exciting project.
