Job description:

We have a fantastic opportunity at The Diocese of Worcester to join our safeguarding team.

This varied role supports the care and nurture of everyone within our church community. You will work closely with our Diocesan Safeguarding Officer and our small and supportive safeguarding team; together we advise the Bishop and others responsible for the care of children and vulnerable adults throughout the Church in our diocese. In this role you will:

  • play a key role in our safeguarding training strategy
  • deliver nationally provided safeguarding training in an effective and engaging way and support parishes in the implementation of required safeguarding standards  
  • provide safeguarding advice, carry out new and existing casework (both serious and low-level concerns) and respond well to victims and survivors of abuse
  • manage agreements, risk assessments and support monitoring and auditing processes

 

We are looking for a person who can apply good safeguarding practice in a way that delivers positive outcomes for children and adults. You will need a relevant professional qualification, substantial practitioner experience as well as experience of leading and delivering training events. It’s essential that you have up to date knowledge of safeguarding guidance and the management of cases of concern. Salary: £41,654 plus a generous non-contributory pension.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday to include occasional weekends or evenings.

Location: This post will be based at the Diocesan Office in central Worcester with some home working possible and will require travel around the Diocese.
