Christmas singing in Halesowen

An exciting new singing group is beginning today at St John the Baptist Church in Halesowen. Initially meeting once each month, Joyful Noise is aimed at children and young people who enjoy singing and want to flourish in faith through song.

The first session will focus on Christmas songs and Carols, including a song especially for the Christingle Messy Church on 21 December. Future sessions will explore new and previously learnt songs, and it is hoped that the singing group will ultimately share the ‘Joyful Noise’ at some Sunday Worship services, and special services such as Easter and Christmas.

Children and Families’ Worker, Louise Hicklin, said: “Singing worship songs together fosters a sense of belonging, helping children to
connect emotionally with their faith. Praising God through singing allows them to have active and meaningful participation in worship.”
‘Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.’ Psalm 98:4

Pray for the new singing group at St John the Baptist in Halesowen and for all our churches who are finding new ways of reaching
children and families during Advent and Christmas.
